The Mahindra Thar 4x4 is an all-terrain vehicle that has a front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive with a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel or 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine.

The car provides 22 liters of fuel tank capacity, which is enough for long drives on rough terrain with few stops for refueling or fuel refill, and offers off-road driving experience to cope with the tough dirt roads on hilly terrains and other extreme off-road conditions.

The new Mahindra Thar includes many features that could be of use for those who are driving it in tough terrains like a jeep or off-roader. In this video, you can see a demonstration of how the traction control works on the Thar. There are two modes: AUTO and MANUAL. In AUTO mode, traction control works automatically to transfer power to different wheels whereas in MANUAL mode, the driver can switch between different modes himself by pressing buttons on the steering wheel.

The Mahindra Thar has always been a unique vehicle. It was originally marketed as being the world's first light off-road vehicle and it's been around for over 50 years. The Thar is only available with a 2.2 liter turbodiesel engine, which produces a max power output of 66kW and 240 Nm of torque. Its 8” wide tyres offer superior grip and while they are shorter than most of its rivals, this doesn't seem to bother the Thar on any terrain that we threw at it during our hands-on test drive. In order to make this SUV even more appealing, Mahindra is offering new powertrain options for the 2020 model year: a 1.3 liter petrol engine or a 1.5 liter diesel engine with an injection system that will improve fuel efficiency by 10%.

Mahindra's new Thar 4x4 has a powerful 2.2 liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces maximum power of 109hp with a maximum torque of 360 Nm. The engine is mated with a five-speed manual transmission, which provides speedy acceleration and fuel-efficient performance for any kind of terrain.
