Mahindra Thar- Interiors and Exteriors

Mahindra Thar is a car that has been in the market for some time. It is a four wheel drive vehicle that can handle off-road conditions. The car can be used as an everyday car and can also be used as a weekend vehicle for off-roading purposes.

This Thar has been touted by most car reviewers as the embodiment of everything that can be considered to be ‘masculine’, meaning that it has got a rugged exterior, a powerful engine, and enough space to haul anything from home improvement supplies to camping gear. Its only downside is its unimpressive fuel economy which may not be suitable for long road trips.

Since the Mahindra Thar was designed with off-road driving in mind, it doesn’t have many features meant specifically for on-road driving. There is no cruise control or power steering either - so I wouldn't recommend these if you're looking to snag one as an everyday driver.

Mahindra Thar car is one of the best SUVs in its segment.

The cabin’s design is pretty neat with thick door pad and sufficient space for 6+ footers. You can find stylish elements like all-black theme and Mahindra logo at the bottom of the mirrors. The Mahindra Thar comes with a spacious cabin that is fit for people of all shapes and sizes, it has good ground clearance and offers an impressive turning radius.

The Thar has an air-conditioner that uses less power. The old-school HVAC system generates only as much power as is needed, whereas the air-con’s power is fixed and doesn't change with the outside temperature. The way it cools might be more in sync with how humans perceive cool, but the Thar can’t compete with the performance of other cars on this list.

The Mahindra Thar is a rugged SUV that has a stunningly modern look. In fact, it looks like most other SUVs on the market - until you get to the front grille. With its aggressive design and chiseled lines, the Thar stands out from most other SUV's - in a very good way.

The cabin features a lot of hard plastics and low quality materials, but there are some attractive styling touches. Like the chrome accents on all of the vents, for example. The seats are comfortable and visibility is decent enough for city use but not so much for off-roading or long distance driving as you would have to crane your neck to see out of the back window.

The Mahindra Thar has a great boot space with a load capacity of 2,000kg. It also provides comfort in rear seats.

The Mahindra Thar is not only great for off-roading but also for long-distance driving. It has an admirable boot space and comfortable rear seat, which is perfect for long drives.

Following the car’s launch in India in December 2008, the Thar has been constantly upgraded to keep it up to date with the changing customer needs. The latest upgrade has taken care of a key comfort and space issue - rear seat comfort and space.

The rear seat comfort is increased by adding a higher backrest, more elbow room and better cushioning. The Thar now offers enough headroom for taller people too. And all this without compromising on the ground clearance or cargo space!

There are several features which make the Thar perfect for off-roading. These include; a low center of gravity, superior traction and four wheel drive with differential locks.

The Mahindra Thar is a great off-road vehicle. The rear space is quite small and can have cargo boxes on the tailgate.

The boot space is actually pretty good considering it an SUV with a more traditional setup. It has enough room to carry luggage for at least four people, but if you need to take bigger pieces you'll be out of luck as there's only room for one or two small suitcases and nothing larger than that.

The suspension system on the Mahindra Thar is the double wishbone suspension that is designed according to Indian standards. It has a multilink setup at the back. The ride quality however, would be noisier than other SUVs with softer suspensions.

The steering is easy and effortless because of the hydraulic power. The powerful engine together with the automatic transmission make that it is easy for you to speed up and navigate through various traffic scenarios. It does not let you down when you are driving on rugged roads or sloping terrain either, as it can go up to 60% gradient. The braking system on the Mahindra Thar is reliable and one of the best features about this car.The front brakes are brought to you by two 282 mm drums which are vented and self-adjusting. The rear brakes are brought to you by two 303 mm discs with twin-pot calipers which provide more stopping power than the front brakes, but not as much as on other cars. The brake pedal is well positioned, making it easy to reach with your foot even whilst wearing shoes or boots, however it does feel stiffer than most other cars’ pedals do when pressing it down.

The Mahindra Thar is a car designed for the Indian market. It's a crossover SUV that comes with plenty of features and a promising design.
