New Mahindra Thar SUV - Price & Specifications in India

The Mahindra Thar SUV has been a much-awaited launch from the company. Mahindra has decided to launch its second generation of 2020-2021 models, with a long wait period as compared to its first generation model which had a waiting period of 4-6 weeks. This time around, it is going to be 8 months or even more. The reason behind this long waiting period can be either the high demand or because of pandemic and shortage due to which they are ramping up production.

The Mahindra Thar is a vehicle that is positioned as a premium SUV for off-road terrain. The manufacturer, who also happen to manufacture tractors and motorcycles, first unveiled the Thar in 2004.The car is powered by the powerful 3.2L engine, which enables speeds of up to 125 km/h. Recently, there has been an increase in demand for the car among consumers and it is believed that this jump in demand originated from the increasing popularity of SUVs worldwide.

However, there are some concerns about the lack of semiconductors and their effect on prices. Mahindra has not been having a great time with their 4x4 SUV, the Thar. The vehicle has faced a lot of criticism from both critics and customers alike, but it is now facing problems from another direction - the high waiting period.

Mahindra has finally addressed this issue and reduced the waiting period for the hard-top Thar variants to 2 months in most cities in India. They also made automatic variants available for some of these cities, which may have led to the increase in demand.

In late-2019, Mahindra briefly ceased the sale of the 2020 Mahindra Thar in India. This is because of the introduction of new taxes on SUVs and the discontinuation of lower-priced entry-level variants. The auto manufacturer is bringing back its entry level variants to boost sales and also provide a strong incentive for car buyers who can't afford or don't want to buy an AX variant.

The two engine options with the Mahindra Thar are the 2.2 liter Diesel and the 3.2 liter diesel engine which makes it a Thar that is versatile and can be used for multiple purposes.

The hood of the car is called thar which is derived from the word "Tar" because it's made to withstand an immense amount of heat, making it a perfect choice for desert terrain where there are high winds and sandstorms. There are also options for a sunroof and windows that can be opened up to three inches.

The Mahindra Thar comes with a six speed manual or four speed automatic transmission system, giving drivers more options in how they want to drive their car. The mHawk that was released in 2017 is not just another variant of the Mahindra Thar but instead has become its own vehicle with features like power steering and ABS brakes as standard features in order to make driving easier on those long journeys.

The Thar's demand for a waiting period is soaring high in the market. This is mainly because of the competition with the BS6 Force Gurkha and India-bound Maruti Suzuki Jimny.

The BS6 Force Gurkha and India-bound Maruti Suzuki Jimny vehicles are creating more competition than ever before for the Thar, when it comes to waiting periods.
