3 Door Mahindra Thar VS 5 Door Mahindra Thar

The new Mahindra Thar is a much better car and has everything which a family needs. It comes with leather upholstery, electric tailgate, dual airbags and ABS on all the wheels.

Auto journalists have lauded the Thar for its safety and performance. They say that it has excellent off-road prowess and offers a degree of comfort that is not usually associated with SUVs in this segment.

On 4th October 2020, the Indian auto manufacturer Mahindra released their new Thar model. In October 2020, the Mahindra Thar was given a major facelift, making it a more powerful and better city driving vehicle. The long booking period, combined with the fact that it keeps climbing in demand, indicates it is a popular and sought-after car. The one downside of Thar is that rear seat comfort is not great. To address the new emerging market for SUVs in India, Mahindra plans to launch a new variant of the current 3-door off-roader.

The question is what separates the 3-door and the 5-door versions of the Mahindra Thar?

The 3-door Thar has more luggage space and it will be easier to access the trunk.

The 5-door Thar will be more spacious and there will be a lot of headspace in the back seat. However, there won’t be any visibility issues on the 3-door version because of its sloping roofline.

Under the hood, the 3-door option currently provides a few powertrains. We expect the mStallion 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine and the mHawk 2.2-liter diesel engine to power the 5-door avatar. The petrol engine has a power output of 150bhp and the diesel motor 130 bhp. But, the power figures for both engines stand similar at 300 Nm but the petrol’s peak torque comes at a lower speed of 1250rpm while for the diesel it comes at 1600rpm.

Both engines for the latest edition are available in a manual or automatic, the same will be true of the 5 door version.

The Thar is a versatile vehicle, capable of tackling the most difficult of roads. It is also known to be India’s largest selling SUV.

There are two versions of this car, one with three and another with five doors. The latest version is bigger and allows for more passengers to be carried without compromising on the Thar’s off-road capabilities. This article will discuss the 5 door Mahindra Thar vs 3 door Mahindra Thar.

5 Door Mahindra Thar vs 3 Door Mahindra Thar

The new 5-door iteration will be a longer vehicle with an increased wheelbase.

Thar, the latest from the stables of auto giant Mahindra, is being launched in two variants - three- and five-door.

Mahindra has confirmed that it will offer the 3-door version in India and Africa, as well as the 5-door variant for other markets such as Australia, Europe and some South American countries.

This might not be a big development for those who want a practical vehicle but it would be good for off-road enthusiasts who want to go over boulders without damaging their vehicles.

Mahindra Thar is ideally a car for off-road usage. The 3 door Mahindra Thar is tight and lacks space to store luggage and other stuff. Adding the 5th door would allow for more space inside the vehicle, which in turn would make the car a lot more appealing.

From the Indian automotive market’s perspective, having two extra doors to be used by passengers of the vehicle would drastically improve cabin space as they will not be restricted with just three doors available. It will also make way for stowage of luggage and other stuff that is currently not possible with just three doors over the current model.

The decision to have a 5-door or 3-door Mahindra Thar may depend on the purpose of the vehicle.

The Thar is an off-road vehicle, and it's meant to be used in rugged terrains and is not expected to face heavy traffic or stay in congested areas. This means that while a 3-door version might be more appropriate for city use, a 5 door can be used by those who plan on taking their Thar on long trips. The width of the 5-door model will not be much different from that of 3-doors.

The new upcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar is expected to be just like its 3-door predecessor, having two models - the hardtop and also the convertible soft-top. But the soft top is what's in high demand. The exterior of the 5-door Mahindra looks exactly like the current model from the front and back. The side profile will get a slightly different look and feel, all because of the inclusion of rear doors. Rear seats are a concern for many people. The rear door is a new feature on the Sedona. It makes getting in and out of the car much easier, ensuring your satisfaction every time. One of the main benefits of hardwood floors is that they are durable and don't scratch or scuff like some other types of flooring materials.

Since the interior and creature comforts of both versions are more or less identical, it won't be much of a decision to figure out which one to choose.
